Music in Limon
In 1870, immigrants from the English-speaking Caribbean islands arrived to Limon bringing their customs with them, including their musical practices. The music brought by these immigrants starts to evolve and the Calypso from Limon is formed. This music genre narrates stories about events that represent the region’s history and culture.

En 1870, emigrantes de la región inglesa del Caribe llegarón a Limón. Con su llegada introdujeron también nuevas corrientes musicales a esta zona de Costa Rica y se abre paso al Calypso limonense. Esta expresión musical narra historias sobre acontecimientos que representan la historia de la región y su cultura.
